Do not wear a make-up masks:

When using the masks, at least in the areas where the mask is on your face, do not use cosmetics such as blush, lipstick and concealer. Of course, the use of some liquid mascara is allowed and you should avoid creating extra layers on the skin because it causes more irritation.

Dermatologists note that the use of cosmetics when using the mask will increase the risk of skin allergies to some of the ingredients in them.

shave your beard:

Facial hair can irritate the skin more and trap more moisture and heat than smooth skin, so it is best to trim your face if you wear a mask regularly, otherwise you will experience skin irritation. In addition, some masks may be ineffective when having facial hair.

Avoid skin treatments for blemishes and use exfoliating products:

When you have skin blemishes or red pimples on the skin, it is natural to go for treatments such as benzoyl peroxide or sulfur treatment. Alternatively, maybe use a peeling cream, toner or scrub from time to time.

If you suspect that a skin problem is caused by a facemask, it is best to avoid using them for a few days, as these treatments can potentially aggravate the problem and leave scars on the skin. So, avoid any treatment such as retinol, vitamin C or other things as it may make your skin more sensitive.

Choose a mask from natural fabrics:

Obviously, some people have to wear a special mask because of their job. However, many people choose cloth or surgical masks.

It is recommended to choose a mask that is made of natural materials such as cotton, and keep in mind that single-layer cotton masks cannot be effective against germs, so choose a mask that has several layers of fabric and avoid using fabric masks with synthetic materials as much as possible.

Do not chew gum when using the mask:

Chewing gum when applying a mask can actually cause skin rashes or bumps around the mouth, a condition called pyruvate dermatitis, which is because peppermint and other gum essential oils are harmful to the skin when applying a mask because they contain sodium lauryl. Sulfates, vegetable oils of mint or cinnamon are the most common irritants.

If you have a rash around your mouth or lips after applying the mask and have not chewed gum, consider a hypoallergenic, low-fluoride toothpaste.

Do skin soothing solutions at night:

We recommend using a light moisturizer throughout the day to minimize the possibility of excessive moisture and heat on the skin, but nighttime is a good time to repair the skin.
